The Voices Project opened a window to the identity, hopes, courage and concerns of youth in Vermont, engaging thousands of Vermont teens in the creation of an original, vibrant stage production based on reality and brought to life by Vermont's young people. Family, school, drugs, dating, health, sex, religion, peer pressure, diversity, media, politics and the world at large are explored through the Voices Project. Specific issues, such as rural vs. urban life, farming, class division, and the similarities and differences of growing up in Vermont vs. the rest of the country are discussed. Speakers discuss the process of creating the Voices Project and how it changed teens' lives, raised consciousness and created a vibrant musical.
