According to the Tibetan Association of Vermont, there are currently 160 Tibetans living in the greater Burlington area. Established in 1993, TAV aims to preserve and promote Tibetan culture. To this end, the nonprofit organization welcomes community members to its annual Vermont Tibet Festival, where they’ll find traditional eats, handicrafts and artwork in the Edmunds School Gymnasium. Song and dance performances round out this 15th annual function that TAV describes in a press release as “our chance to share with our neighbors and friends a little of our rich, ancient culture.”
