On Wednesday, May 2nd, sixth grade students from Charlotte Central School spoke live with NASA astronauts Scott Tingle and Drew Feustel. Tingle and Feustel are currently completing a six-month mission on board the ISS and students will ask the pair questions about life in space and experiments the astronauts are currently conducting. RETN offered technical support to make the uplink with NASA possible.

The Charlotte sixth graders have been working for the past two months on an interdisciplinary ISS unit in social studies and science. They are conducting their own research projects on some of the actual science experiments currently underway at the space station. The students are working with RETN’s education team to create short videos about their research and experience talking with the astronauts.

Keep an eye on RETN’s website and Facebook page for those videos later this month.
