For many in the U.S., Cesar Chavez is considered a great leader, "arguably, the most important Latin leader in the United States," to quote the Brattleboro's 1st Wednesdays program. Amherst College Profesor, Illan Stavans, discusses Chavez' legacy, influence, and his place in the history of labor in the U.S. Stavans is the editor of Chavez' collected speeches.

Recorded at Brooks Memorial Library on October 7, 2015 as part of the Vermont Humanities Coucil sponsored First Wednesdays statewide lecture series.
