Jaquette W. Heck ( Jill ) is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design. From 1978 through 1988 she was the Founder, President and sole owner of the Women’s Pro Ski Racing Tour which introduced corporate-sponsored ski races for elite women skiers from around the world allowing them to compete for prize money. She sold the Pro Tour to the Men’s Pro Ski Racing Tour in 1988.

Jill founded her second business, Women’s Marketing, Inc. (WMI ) in 1982 initially as an adjunct to the Ski Tour. WMI produced special advertising inserts called advertorials in national women’s magazines such as Glamour, Harper’s Bazaar, and Self. The early advertorials produced by WMI promoted not only the women ski racers but also other women athletes and the sponsors of their events. WMI progressed from producing themed advertorials to purchasing large volumes of magazine space on a discounted basis which were then sold by WMI to advertisers. WMI eventually developed into a media buying company purchasing all forms of media ( including radio, TV, newspapers, billboards, and kiosks ) but specializing in magazines and out-of-home. Jill remained President and sole owner of WMI through 2005 when she sold it to the private equity group Halyard Capital. Just prior to the sale in 2005 WMI had annual revenues in excess of $100 million and was ranked between General Motors and IBM as the 10th largest purchaser of magazine pages in the US.
