St. Michael's College Professor Traci Griffith discusses free speech versus hate speech - one is a constitutionally protected form of expression, the other, an exercise in bigotry and hatred, posing as freedom. That distinction is critical because the conflicts that have erupted recently have left many wondering if there really is a difference. Professor Griffith will discuss the differences and the consequences of free speech versus hate speech. Traci Griffith is Associate Professor of Media Studies, Journalism & Digital Arts at St. Michael's College. She also services as a board member for the Vermont ACLU and the Vermont Press Association.
