Eyes on the Land: Artists' Panel
Panel discussion featuring artists Susan Abbott, Gowri Savoor, Brian Collier and Cami Davis, who participated in the Eyes on the Land project.
Eyes on the Land is a partnership between the Vermont Land Trust, the Shelburne Museum, owners of conserved land, and visual artists. This unique project explores how our landscape can be viewed and experienced through a variety of artistic lenses.
Thirteen Vermont artists have been connected with conserved properties that represent the breadth of the Vermont Land Trust’s work throughout the state: dairy operations, vegetable farms, working forests, riverways, and recreational public lands. Artists have been given a year to develop a relationship with their property. Working with differing mediums and aesthetic approaches (painting, video, photography, conceptual art, and environmental sculpture), the artists are each creating a "visual essay" that explores their personal response to these protected places.
