Eric Zencey, Gund Fellow and author of " The Other Road to Serfdom" presents his keynote, "Energy as Master Resource" at the 4th Annual Biophysical Economics Conference. Zencey argued that energy should be considered as the foundation and largest variable in the economy and needs to be treated as such.
The BPE Conference was held in late October at the University of Vermont and included two days of seminars, workshops, break-out discussions, and field trips. The conference was co-sponsored by the University of Vermont's Gund Institute for Ecological Economics, State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry, University of Vermont's Transportation Research Center, and the U.S. Society for Ecological Economics.
