Baltimore Ecosystem Study: Urban Ecology

Gund Graduate Student Fellow, Holli Howard, discusses her master thesis research on urban ecology, through the use of the Baltimore Ecosystem Study. She is working on developing a methodology to define the urban to metropolitan transition zone to strengthen ecological vulnerability planning. While wrapping up her Master of Science degree in Natural Resources at the University of Vermont, she is also working on vulnerability mapping in the Winooski Watershed. Before UVM, Holli was the Director of Geographic Resources at Casey Trees in Washington, DC. She holds a graduate degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Tasmania, Australia and a Bachelor of Science from the University of New Hampshire.
