All school boards in the Addison Northwest Supervisory Union voted on August 19th to form an Act 46 Study Committee to re-look at the possibility of forming one supervisory district. The purpose for forming one governance structure instead of the five that currently exists is to promote equitable educational opportunities and financial efficiencies. Act 46 is a new law enacted last spring that provides financial incentives for districts to become one governing structure. The incentives are only available if the electorate passes this in a vote within two years.
