Electronic Recording Arts Students to Produce Live Stream of Handel’s Messiah
The Electronic Recording Arts program at the Burlington Technical Center will produce a live Internet stream of Stowe’s Annual Messiah Sing-in starting at 7 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2015. The concert is sponsored by the Stowe Community Church and Stowe Performing Arts, and will be streamed live online courtesy of RETN. [WATCH]
This is the 24th annual concert at the Stowe Community Church, and the first time it has been recorded for broadcast. Conducted by Stowe High School music teacher Jane Lambert, the performance features a full orchestra, soloists, and audience participation. Soloists include Hannah Marshall, Gary Moreau, Fiona Reed, Marc Yakubosky, Elisabeth Ortiz, Courtney DeRienzo and Danielle Carrier.
“This event is often the beginning of the holiday season for many people. You can hear it said as folks exit the church after the performance. It is truly a magical evening, especially when the Hallelujah Chorus is performed at the end,” said Lambert. Lambert has conducted this concert for the past 19 years.
This is the second live concert produced by the ERA students in partnership with RETN. Producing live concerts is a great opportunity for the students in the program to gain live production skills, and is consistent wit ERA's mission to have students produce a variety of electronic media programs using industry production standards.
The Stowe Community Church doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the concert begins at 7 p.m. The suggested donation is $8.00.
