Christopher Lawless, a recent graduate of Champlain College, has had his work featured in “Willard and Maple,” “Down in the Dirt,” and “The California Quarterly.” His new book, “East Slade, Maine,” captures the mystery of forgotten places and the history of lost people. “It is the madness of imagery and sensual simplicity that reside in each of my poems,” Lawless says. Growing up in a small town in Western New York, Christopher realized the importance of family and self-sacrifice. These poems are his way of memorializing his past and the people who shared his sense of isolation, never forgetting who they were to themselves and to the ones they changed forever.
