Annie Cooper of Essex Junction traces the roots of her storytelling to growing up an Irish Catholic in Brooklyn, New York, listening to Tommy Makem and The Clancy Brothers. She credits their storytelling with making her laugh and sing.

Storytelling VT hosts a special night of stories, in partnership with the Fletcher Free Library and RETN. This special night is in conjunction with “Exploring Human Origins: What Does It Mean to Be Human?,” a traveling exhibition by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) and the American Library Association (ALA), coming to the library February 2017. Our theme for the night is "What does it mean to be human?" and is told live without notes, in the magical living room that is the Light Club.
