rapid aging in VT, fiscal impacts of VT's aging population, demographic changesProgram Description:
The age structure of Vermont is predicted to change dramatically over the next 25 years. The state is aging more rapidly than the nation, and over the next 25 years, the number of people over the age of 65 is expected to double. Businesses and other employers are projected to encounter an increasing scarcity of workers and expanding numbers of senior citizens. This seminar will explore the demographic causes and fiscal impacts of these changes and suggest ways that the private and public sectors can meet these challenges.
