Program Description:

This presentation highlights the collaborative work conducted by University of Vermont researchers under the auspices of the Legacy and Community Outreach Partnership Center (COPC) projects, both of which are broad, multifaceted, and citizen-based. Lynne Bond discusses the research results amassed from canvassing over 160 households in Burlington's North end regarding neighborhood quality of life. She also examines the ways in which the presence of and participation in block associations appear to affect neighborhood quality of life. Justin Dextradeur presents research on local affordable housing policy and countywide mapping conducted for UVM-COPC. Betsy Rosenbluth and Frederick Schmidt present the process used by the Legacy Project steering committee to develop community indicators, establishing markers to assess program impact, and illustrated the display of these indicators on the publicly accessible World Wide Web.
