CRV annual meeting honoring James Peterson, archaeology, 30 yrs of recent arch discoveriesProgram Description:
An explosion of archaeological discoveries in the last 30 years reveals remarkable, unwritten chapters of 500 generations of original Vermonters. These histories are enriched by the stories told by modern-day Abenakis about their more recent history. State Archaeologist Giovanna Peebles is your tour guide on this journey of discovery. The special role of the University of Vermont (UVM) and the extraordinary contributions of UVM Professor James Petersen, who tragically died in 2005, are highlighted throughout the presentation. This is the 2006 annual meeting for the Center for Research on Vermont.
