Program Description:
Zhen Tou is a form of traditional Chinese street performance. It differs from the improvisational style of western street performance in that it is based on the sophisticated forms of Chinese martial arts. "Zhen Tou" are performed on the streets or in temple courtyards and are a celebration to show respect and entertain the gods. These performances reveal the diversity of cultural totems and the vitality of a rural society.
