Program Description:

Dr. John Duffy examines stone buildings of the 19th century, such as those found in the Champlain-Richelieu borderlands, which are rich repositories of historical, sociological, and economic information about the building itself and how it fits into the built landscape. He pays special attention to Fort Lenox (Quebec) and Fort Montgomery (NY), large stone structures which influenced construction techniques and the evolution of communities on both sides of the international boundary. John J. Duffy is Emeritus Professor of English and Humanities at Johnson State College.
