Program Description:
Mussorgsky composed "Pictures at an Exhibition" after seeing an exhibit of artwork created by his dear, departed friend, Victor Hartmann. In homage to this creative process, paintings by three Vermont student artists serve as the muse for Damon Hagen's world premiere composition. In another creative union, the Vermont Symphony Orchestra Chorus and soprano Shyla Nelson join the VYO to perform Poulenc's "Gloria."
