Program Description:

Every year, the School of Business Administration celebrates the best and brightest students during the annual Honors Day Celebration. This year, 23 of our top undergraduate and graduate students received awards.

“I am always impressed with, not only the academic achievements of our students, but the many extracurricular activities and volunteer work in which they are involved,” said Dean Larry Shirland, of the School of Business Administration.

“It’s a great honor,” said Matthew Jankow, a senior Business School student concentrating in both Finance and Accounting. Jankow, who is also a member of the Men’s Lacrosse Team, spent last summer working as an intern for General Electric’s Financial Management Program in Cincinnati, Ohio. The company was so impressed that they offered him a full-time position. Jankow received the Severance Finance Award.

“It feels great to know that my hard work paid off,” he said. “I definitely had to put in the time in the past couple of years, I’m glad it all paid off and got me a job and put me in the right direction.”

“It’s awesome to get recognition for something like that,” said Brian Sozansky, a junior Business Student concentrating in Accounting. Sozansky also has an impressive resume. He is not only completing his undergraduate requirements as a junior in May and coming back to the School of Business next year to complete the Master of Accountancy (MAcc), he is also a member of the University of Vermont Board of Trustees and active in the Accounting Club. He received the Undergraduate Excellence Award.

“It’s nice getting the recognition for everything you’ve done up to this point, it’s fantastic,” Sozansky said.
