Program Description:
Taiwan is a subtropical island with varied topography that allows the growth of tropical, subtropical and temperate fruits. Through constant innovation in production, management, education, research and marketing, Taiwan has established a solid fruit industry and won the name of "The Kingdom of Fruit." Casting away its primitive appearance, Taiwan's fruit industry has grown into an epitome of beauty and the most modern technology. Through participation in "production and marketing classes," Taiwanese farmers have developed fruit specific to local areas. The orchards have integrated themselves with sightseeing activities by sponsoring large-scale fruit festivals. There, visitors are able, aside from eating, drinking and vacationing, to see the fecundity and vitality of this land.
