Program Description:
Fort St. Anne, on Isle La Motte, dates to the earliest European occupation of Vermont and represents one of the most significant historic sites in the state. The history and archaeology of the fort offer valuable information about the religious, political, economic, and military beginnings of New France as well as the forming of Vermont's national identity.
