Program Description:
Rice has always been closely related to the lives of the people on Taiwan. Did early immigrants first introduce rice to the island? Traces of rice grains left on earthenware pieces found in various archaeological excavations seem to have unveiled a different answer. This documentary looks at the cycles of rice cultivation, examines the different ways of farming, introduces how rice is used in various foods, and presents its significance in several important festivals. Indeed, aside from enriching our lives, rice has also developed into a unique part of Taiwan's rice culture.
