Program Description:
Historical archaeology continues to be a powerful way to re-discover 1607 Jamestown, Virginia, the first permanent colony outside of the British Isles and arguably the birthplace of modern America. This lecture examines the history, the discovery process and major finds of the rediscovered site which, for over two centuries was thought totally lost to riverbank erosion.
