Program Description:
Derived from the Greek word "plastikos," meaning to mold or form, plastic surgery often involves borrowing or rearranging tissue in order to restore form and function. Review the scope of reconstructive plastic surgery and view photographs of case examples. Specific topics will include breast reconstruction after cancer surgery; reconstruction of traumatic wounds and injuries; and management of congenital problems such as cleft lip and palate. Plastic Surgeon Susan MacLennan, M.D., Assistant Professor of Surgery, presents.
