Program Description:
Ashwini Bhide belongs to a new generation of Indian vocalists from the Jaipur-Atrauli tradition of Khyal singing. Trained as a singer since the age of five, she is celebrated by critics and music lovers alike. Bhide's blend of tonal sweetness, soulfulness, and vitality has attracted loyal audiences throughout her native India, the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East. Thanks to her fluency in Sanskrit, Bhide's repertoire includes the most moving of traditional Indian hymns.
